The Front Lines

Two weeks later.

The ground crunched under my bare feet and then I heard something snap.

I paused for one moment, debating whether or not to look, but then decided that it was best not to glance down and continued forward. The gravel like sand sinking in between my toes with each step.

Behind me lay a wasteland of ivory dunes which continued as far as the eye could see. But it wasn't a desert.

It was a graveyard.

What resembled sand, was in fact the remains of an ancient city which had been destroyed countless times by war. Crushed over and over again, until grand palaces and stone houses were reduced to fine grains.

Final Fantasy X-2.5 ~Eien no Daishō~" A rough translation. Part 2

'
Part: 1, 2, 3

Disclaimer: I am not an official translator. I have a degree in Japanese, and lived in Japan for years, but I'm still not perfect. I'm going to try my best to translate all the dialogue, but there were some vague or difficult descriptions that I decided to skip, and sentences that I decided to swap for more natural English equivalents. I also added a few "he said, she said" to make it easier to tell who's speaking. Please think of this as a rough translation and don't treat it like it 100% accurate.

Please link back to this page if you use the information from the translation, and support Final Fantasy by buying the official translation if it becomes available.

Part: 1, 2, 3

The villagers had actually come out to meet Yuna who had been gone for a while. Tidus was of course welcomed by the one’s who knew him. Datto, Letty, Botta, Jassu, Keepa, from his old team, the Besaid Aurochs.

While happily meeting everyone again, Wakka enthusiastically held out a baby in his arms.

"This is my kid Vidina, isn’t he cute?"

"Yeah, but...um....who gave birth to him?"

"That would be me."

He heard a defiant voice from behind him. When he turned around the first thing he saw was a large bosom. It was Lulu.

“Still as beautiful as ever.”

Lulu laughed softly and took the baby from Wakka.

"Next!" snapped the red demon, then the green one looked straight at me.

I could do nothing but watch as he moved towards my chains. Terror increasing with his every step. I never expected to feel so afraid when the time finally came. Even though there was nothing to live for, I suddenly didn't want to die.

"Pick me, good sir!" enthusiastically cried the soul in the paper suit beside me.

"What the frick is wrong with you?" hissed the half naked soul in the shorts. "You can't seriously want to go after watching that messed up shi-"

"Ignore that selfish prick at the end!" cried Paper suit. "He's just trying to steal my turn!"

The green demon moved towards the soul in the Paper suit, but it was then that the old man on my other side began singing a morbid rhyme.

"Take his head and pass it around," the old soul sang like a children's song. "Dancing on his entrails. Shred the shitty king of Hell. Pop goes Azazel."

As soon as he finished he went back to the start and sang it again. Over and over again like he couldn't stop.

M.C.Queen Reads " Final Fantasy X-2.5 ~Eien no Daishō~" A rough translation. Part 1

Having recently finished Final Fantasy X, I was curious about what happened next in the story after Tidus returns. After some investigation I found out about the novel FFX2.5 which doesn't have an English translation. I decided to give the Japanese version ago, and I decided to write a rough translation of the story as I read, so that I can share what really happens with other Final Fantasy X fans.

Disclaimer: I am not an official translator. I have a degree in Japanese, and lived in Japan for years, but I'm still not perfect. Final Fantasy X-2.5 ~Eien no Daishō~

Boy's Side

Tidus was in the middle of darkness. Memories replay in his head. He saw both his mother and father. A man with long hair and a thin woman.

They were both gone.

His father disappeared one day, and then his mother died of loneliness. He remembered how much it hurt that day.

New scene added to "Memories of a Soul" chapter two

Like always I’ve recently been trying to improve my current story in progress Memories of a Soul in the Underworld. I’ll probably be working on it until I’m eighty, but recently I’ve been working on the beginning in an attempt to make it more interesting and engaging.

I recently realised that Alastair had no introduction scene. He is often talked about as being a party boy, but I had no party scenes, and he was first introduced as being more serious and paranoid. Therefore I wanted to write a scene showing the more flamboyant Alistair. I also wanted it to be more light hearted and amusing in an attempt to balance out some of the darker scenes that come later on.
I also had the problem of introducing too main characters at once in chapter two, so this scene means that Alistair, Mira, Alphonse, and the others are introduced more slowly.

I also wanted to explain more about how magic works in the Underworld, and show more of a comparison between how Alistair and Ethan use magic.
For Alistair it comes easily and he can achieve almost any spell he wants through chanting spells, whereas it’s impossible for Ethan. He’s at a big disadvantage and must improvise and create his own way of using magic just to be half as good.

I also threw in a few more lines about the creation of the Underworld (or their interpretation of it) and why regular human beings are there. Because they at some point travelled there from Earth and took over.

You can check out the new version of the chapter here. I will also be updating the story file on Amazon too. Feel free any feedback in the comments section.

Another Soul Market

Two hours later.

"You have to go back there!" I screamed as two Soul Market agents carried me down a dark stone corridor. There wasn't a window in sight, dim lamps lit the way. The only sounds were distant screams, and the splash of boots in the puddles on the floor.

"He killed her!" I desperately struggled against their hold. "That bastard killed her! You have to do something!"

"Yeah, yeah," muttered the large mortal holding my feet. I once slipped a foot out of his grip and kicked him in the face. The evidence of my success was a small mark on his cheek, but his hold had since become unbreakable.

But that didn't stop me from trying.

"Told you we should have gagged him when we had the chance," laughed the young man holding my upper body. That guy's brown shoulder length hair looked like it'd never been combed, and his untucked shirt was covered with stains. Suits and ties were apparently no longer essential for becoming a Soul Market employee.
