How I was Murdered by a Monster King Character Pages

I made these character pages for the kindle version of my story How I was Murdered by a Monster King.  I recently realised that I could add pictures. I drew all the faces myself, but I can't actually draw anything beyond weird looking cartoons, so they turned out like this. You can check out the Kindle version of my book here https://www.amazon.com/How-Murdered-Monster-King-Book-ebook/dp/B01FZKRM96

Memories of a Soul in the Underworld Chapter 17

Story: Ethan is a soul doomed to spend eternity as a slave in Hell for reasons he can't remember. After centuries of torment he finally snaps and goes on the run from those who enslaved him. Can he escape and become more than a regular soul, or is he doomed to spend an eternity in The Underworld?

The Pit

Sometime later.

It wasn't so bad at first. Of course I couldn't see anything (and there were creepy noises from whatever else was trapped in the basement) but I could finally escape the excruciating work.

I thought my time there could remain pleasant like that, but it didn't take long to understand why Foreman had me shoved down that hole.

It was difficult to keep a firm grip on reality. I couldn't tell night from day, or how much time had passed. What felt like forever may have been nothing.

"Hey!" I screamed in the naive hope that there was someone out there who cared. "Let me out!" I yelled for hours, but nobody came. I didn't doubt that Foreman would leave me down there forever if he wanted, and the idea of being stuck down there for the rest of eternity made my stay even more intolerable.

How I was Murdered by a Fox Monster Chapter 9

Summary: They say life flashes before you in that moment before death. I could see it all reflected in the blade. I was standing under the cherry blossoms at my school entrance ceremony, eating cake at my sister's wedding, standing outside praying the monster wouldn't come tonight. I might not be dead yet but I can see what's coming, this is the story of how I was murdered by a fox monster!

Chapter 9

I thought I would have to hide my new secret life from my family (just like they did in movies), but Sis had me ratted out fast. I forgot I was dealing with the daughter of Kousuke Matsumoto.

"What's this? Sealing charms? Why do you have sealing charms in your bag?" Sis waved the paper in my face before she dived her hand into my backpack for another look. "And what's this? An encyclopedia of Obake! Have you," she paused for breath, "been exorcising?"

I wasn't sure how I could save myself.

"Maybe, perhaps," I stuttered. "I met some kids at school who are exorcists and they let me join their club."

"What do you mean they let you joined their club? Since when has there ever been an exorcist club at high school?"

"You know. The one they have after school, at school, where you learn about mystical stuff which doesn't exist, because there's no such thing as Obake."

I thought I'd done a great job at saving myself, but Sis was not fooled.

"Do you take me for an idiot? I know what this is! It even has property of Miyake South Headquarters printed on the cover. Is this where you've been spending all your time after school?"

January Writing Update

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope that 2017 will be a good year. :) These are small writing updates that I do once a month to talk about what I've been working on recently, and my own experiences of trying to self-publish without spending tones of money.

Recently I've mainly been working one my free story Diary of a Soul in the Underworld. (You can read all the chapters I've done so far here.) My current goal is to try and finish it before I write anything else, and it's been taking me a little longer than I originally expected.

It's a story that has been in my head for a long time, so I won't be satisfied until it's finished. I've currently been writing it chapter by chapter and posting it on free fiction websites such as Booksie and Fictionpress.net. I guess one of the reasons why I decided to write and post this story chapter by chapter was because I thought it would motivate me to keep going. I regally loose my motivation to write (about once a month) so I thought that it would be better to at least have part of the story out there for people to read while I wallow in despair.
